Veterinary Inventory Coordinator
Location: Calgary, AB
Schedule: Flexible schedule with 5x8 hour shifts Monday - Friday.
The C.A.R.E. Centre is looking for a full-time Inventory coordinator to join the ever-growing administrative team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an organized, motivated and empathetic individual to join us in a very specialized support role for the entire Specialty and ER hospital. In this role, you will ensure our hospital runs smoothly and efficiently by managing critical medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and pet nutrition products. You will directly impact the patient care by maintaining accurate stock levels, minimizing waste and supporting our veterinary medical team.
The candidate will require excellent communication, attention to detail and being able to work alone or with a variety of team members.
Key Responsibilities
Track pharmaceutical and medical inventory to forecast supply needs and prevent shortages. Execute daily restocking for the hospital Prepare purchase orders, place supply orders, and source alternative products during vendor shortages. Verify and log incoming shipments, handle damages, and securely stock items. Perform regular physical cycle counts and reconcile data within our management system. Adhere strictly to hospital policies and legal regulations for tracking and storing controlled substances. Partner with Medical Directors and Practice Managers to manage costs and evaluate new products. Manage accounts receivable tasks, follow up on outstanding vendor credits, and resolve billing discrepancies. Implement timely pricing updates in the hospital management system to reflect changing vendor and market costs. Process accurate billing and direct charging of employee accounts for personal pet care, medications, and retail purchases.
Qualifications & Skills
2+ years of experience in inventory control, ideally within a veterinary, medical, or retail setting. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and general database entry. Sharp attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and a strong sense of urgency. Ability to lift heavy pet food bags, safely handle storage boxes, and stay on your feet for daily restocking tasks.
