Organizational Responsibilities

Knowledgeable of Operations Manual (Policy & Procedure) Acceptance of the Salvation Army mission statement Acceptance of the Salvation Army code of ethics Ensure that all residents abide by conditions of Parole and house rules Engage in regular evaluations with the Director Engage in regular case management meetings with Residents Engage in regular case management meetings with management team and Parole Officers regarding all matters of concern about any residents (monthly meeting, daily reporting) Ensure all Resident files on own caseload are up to date. Activity notes and case summaries are entered into the Correctional Services Data Base Represent Railton House in any Salvation Army or interagency committee or meetings as requested by Director or designate Participate in any and all staff training seminars to continuously upgrade skills based on Correctional Services and Salvation Army standards and recommendations Attend all staff meetings Participate as a team member of house staff geared towards the needs of the residents and the house Respect the proper lines of authority Protect the confidentiality of all residents and staff Encourage atmosphere of trust and respect while exercising control Ability to cross-task with case management team as required

Service Responsibilities

Arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to shift start in order to achieve a smooth transition Must complete a full house round to ensure premises are neat, clean and make sure proper head count coincides with names and numbers recorded in logbook, before accepting keys. Make sure all doors are locked that are supposed to be. Read and discuss with outgoing staff any new entries in log book or any relevant information/reports that require follow-up Must be awake at all times Monitor Sign-Out Log to verify name and location on card when resident signs out and upon call-ins Distribute medications and record in medication log book Complete Case Worker check list Process monthly statistics for CSC and The Salvation Army Review and selection of new residents and prep work for weekly CAT meetings Light grocery shopping for the house Assist with administration tasks such as filing, paperwork, weekly DPA and gift card distribution Ensure security of each resident and the building Ensure the portable phone and panic button is with you at all times Ensure intake of new residents is completed, as well as out-take tasks Staff scheduling Travel Permits Enter weekend call-ins into OMS Enter monthly progress notes into OMS Access to CSC email Keep track of residents eligibility for weekend pass Prepare and shred files On call rotation with Program Coordinator Assist Program Cooridnator as required and perform other duties as deemed necessary by Program Coordinator, Director of Programs and Executive Director

Qualifications And Education Requirements

Computer literate University Degree in social or behavioral sciences or related field; 1 year working experience in human service field, preferably corrections. Effective communication skills, both orally and written. Effective conflict resolution and problem solving skills.

Ability to understand the dynamics of offender’s behavior and assess their needs and risk. Ability to understand the use of authority in supervision and to intervene effectively in crisis interventions. Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $21.04 to $26.30 with a maximum of $31.57.

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
