Recreation Attendant I
Competition Number: 2026-28
This position will be required at the Gloria Hayden Community Centre and at various locations where public programming is hosted. While performing the duties and responsibilities this position will directly report to the Recreation Services Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide facilitation and support services to individuals and community groups that are utilizing the facility.
- Customer service functions, handling day-to-day telephone and reception duties, equipment set-up and maintaining positive relations with clients and the general public.
- Handle facility bookings including the maintenance of accurate records and daily cash reporting.
- Keep up to date on events in the city and all facilities to ensure effective service
- Handle customer complaints and forward to appropriate departments
- Process admissions, program registrations and withdrawals, and membership sales for recreational programming
- Perform general janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning windows, stocking supplies, etc.
- Maintain the inventory of supplies and check equipment on a regular basis and report any deficiencies.
- Forward facility booking inquiries to the Recreation Coordinator.
- Ensure safety of facility for participants utilizing the facility.
- Comply with the OH&S Act and Regulations, all City of Yorkton Safety policies and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications:
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook
- Possess and maintain an RCMP security & vulnerable sector clearance
Hours of Work: 10-15 hours per week of casual shifts, including days, evenings and weekends.
