About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a post-secondary student with our Planning & Redevelopment Team based at St. Michael’s Hospital, Unity Health Toronto. The position is focused on coordination of artwork in the hospital and related space changes in our facilities. The position will be based at St. Michael’s Hospital; flexibility to work across our network is required (St. Michael’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Health Centre, and Providence Healthcare). Reporting to the Director-Capital Planning, this individual will have specific interest and experience in the fine arts, a high level of attention to detail and good language and presentation skills. Qualifications and responsibilities are listed below:
Responsibilities:
- As a primary task, conducting artwork audits and inventory at the St. Michael’s site.
- Conducting artwork audits and inventories at other Unity Health locations.
- Updating and maintaining a database of artwork information.
- Producing reports and presentations.
- Support with creation of artwork management policies and procedures.
- Support with communications with hospital and Foundation stakeholders.
- Providing ready-to-use digital files and filing organization for the hospital’s ongoing artwork management.
- Potential updating base building drawings as may be related to artwork inventory.
- Support on other planning and redevelopment tasks and projects as may be needed.
Qualifications include:
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary degree or diploma program in fine art, fine art history, interior design, graphic design, architectural technology, other related field required.
- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook.
- Ability to manipulate digital graphic files such as JPEGs or other; use of other graphic programs an asset but not required.
- Proficiency in Adobe BlueBeam, AutoCAD and/or Revit is an asset but not required.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, preference will be given to those with previous customer service experience.
- Previous experience with database creation, and data entry.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to keep information organized and confidential.
- Energetic and enthusiastic; able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Researching and interviewing skills an asset.
- Satisfactory attendance record.
