This is where you come in. As our Paralegal, you'll own our contract pipeline, keep our corporate compliance tight, and act as the operational engine that keeps our lean legal team moving fast.
We need a commercially minded operational partner to support our Head of Legal in managing a fast-moving flow of contracts, regulatory filings, and corporate governance. This fits into our larger need to scale our operations seamlessly across retail, eCommerce, and logistics, ensuring we can partner with vendors, protect our brand, and launch initiatives without hitting operational bottlenecks.
Within your first few months, you’d take full ownership of our contract pipeline, streamline our intake process, and get up to speed on our corporate record-keeping. In a year, you’ll be proud to say you’ve built a highly organized, tech-forward legal operations system that empowers our teams to move quickly and securely.

You'll be joining a lean, highly collaborative legal team reporting directly to our Head of Legal. We act as proactive partners to almost every team at Article—including Product, Finance, People, and Operations. This is a high-visibility, high-ownership role where you'll have a direct hand in shaping how our legal function operates.
We are a hybrid team - you'll be in our Vancouver office 3 days per week (Monday to Wednesday).
What You’ll Do:
Manage our contract pipeline, overseeing the end-to-end process from initial intake and triage to routing and tracking statuses. Draft, review, and redline standard commercial agreements (such as NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, and vendor agreements) with limited supervision. Keep us compliant by supporting corporate compliance, extended producer responsibility (EPR) regulations, and annual corporate filings. Conduct legal research and analysis on regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and commercial law matters. Support privacy and data compliance efforts (including PIPEDA and CASL) in partnership with the Head of Legal. Help manage our intellectual property portfolio, coordinating trademark and patent filings with our outside counsel. Maintain our corporate records, corporate registries, minute books, and resolutions with sharp attention to detail. Coordinate with outside counsel, tracking active matters, managing invoices, and maintaining status logs. Provide administrative and organizational support to ensure efficient day-to-day operations (managing documentation, coordinating schedules, and keeping files secure).
Who You Are: Experienced: You have 3 to 5 years of experience in an in-house corporate legal department or a law firm. Credentialed: You hold a paralegal or legal assistant certification, or equivalent degree and experience. Systems-oriented: You are skilled in navigating Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms to streamline workflows. Tech-forward: You are highly proficient with G-Suite (including spreadsheets) and comfortable leveraging modern tools—like AI for research—while maintaining professional discretion. Commercially Minded: You have strong problem-solving capabilities and apply practical business logic to your work. A Strong Drafter: You can deliver polished, accurate legal and administrative documentation with minimal oversight. Detail-obsessed: You are highly organized and can shepherd multiple concurrent projects without losing momentum or details. A Proactive Owner: You naturally spot risks, anticipate administrative needs, and independently resolve issues to keep things moving. An Excellent Communicator: You are articulate and can easily translate complex legal or operational concepts for non-legal teams. Requirements: Legally able to work in Canada (up to FULL-TIME HOURS year-round/ no Student VISA). Completion of a criminal background check.
