Agile Underwriting Solutions (Agile) has an exciting opportunity for a permanent, full-time Underwriter, Personal Lines. This is a hybrid position based out of our Dartmouth, NS, Calgary, AB, or Surrey, BC offices. We are open to consider candidates based outside of these regions. If you have a passion for underwriting, you’ll love working for us! Expected Compensation: The expected hiring range for this role is $54,400 to $68,000. Your rate of pay will be determined based on your individual qualifications and experience while considering internal equity. The Personal Lines Underwriter will develop and grow the business by writing new business, managing a renewal portfolio and bringing existing products across Canada while maintaining profitability, and delivering exceptional response times. In this role you will: Independently assess and underwrite personal risks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Apply company guidelines to approve, modify or decline risks Communicate underwriting decisions to internal teams Ensure compliance with company guidelines and regulations. Support key departments by assisting with coaching, training development, and mentoring broker-underwriters. Conduct file audits and provide underwriting guidance. Contribute to product and personal lines manual reviews and improvements. Here’s what you bring: Strong knowledge of personal lines insurance products and operations. Proficiency in the underwriting process. Minimum 3 years of underwriting experience or 5 years in personal lines broking. Working toward or completion of CAIB, CIP, FCIP, or CRM designation. Critical thinking and analysis Excellent time management and ability to multitask Exceptional customer service and organizational skills Strong interpersonal skills & broker relationships Ability to take initiative and work effectively with minimal direction Want to get to know each other better?
