Reporting to the Site Director, you will receive the various types of metals, perform an initial classification, and direct them to the appropriate locations. You will also participate in basic administrative aspects of daily operations.Opening and closing daily operationsWelcoming customers and informing them of current metal pricesProcessing payments and answering telephone callsPreparing shipping documents and balancing the cash register at the end of the dayParticipating in the unloading, sorting, and weighing of metalsEntering data into the RECY softwareOperating various equipment, including a forkliftEnsuring cleanliness of the premises and performing all other related dutiesQualificationsTo join our team:You have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in a similar positionYou hold a valid Class 5 driver’s licenceYou have knowledge of metal recycling, an assetYou have experience operating a forklift, an assetYou will receive on‑the‑job trainingYou are available to work outdoors and be exposed to hot or cold temperaturesYou are able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)You are able to perform metal sorting on a table or on the groundAdditional InformationAmerican Iron and Metal (AIM) and its subsidiaries are equal opportunity employers.
