Your Team:
Join the Crew Resources & Planning team at Flair as a Crew Planner, where you'll play a key role in ensuring our flight operations are supported by effective crew planning and administration. Reporting to the Manager, Crew Planning, you will be responsible for supporting crew schedule planning, training coordination, and the administration of crew qualifications and records. Working within your primary portfolio, Training, Schedule Planning, or Crew Administration, you'll collaborate with the broader Crew Planning team to optimize crew utilization, maintain regulatory and collective agreement compliance, and ensure accurate crew data that supports safe and efficient operations.
This role is an on-site position based in our Toronto, ON office.
A Day in the Life:
As a Crew Planner, you will:
- Analyze future schedules to assess crewing requirements and identify budget impacts.
- Support workforce planning activities and provide recommendations based on operational needs.
- Develop monthly pairings in compliance with CARs, COM, FRMS, and applicable policies.
- Build monthly crew rosters in accordance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Ensure monthly days off are assigned in accordance with regulatory, contractual, and operational requirements.
- Enter monthly crew schedules into the operating system, ensuring a high level of accuracy and completeness.
- Participate in planning and scheduling meetings to support monthly plan execution.
- Administer the annual aircrew vacation allocation process, including bid preparation and processing.
- Support the development of training plans aligned with operational and regulatory requirements.
- Support recovery planning in the event of training disruptions.
- Plan and coordinate initial and recurrent training events.
- Schedule and maintain training events within the Crew Management System (CMS).
- Ensure appropriate instructor coverage for all training activities.
- Coordinate training logistics including instructors, facilities, and vendors.
- Act as point of contact for training vendors and manage schedule changes.
- Work with Training departments to ensure alignment with operational needs.
- Ensure crew qualifications and licensing requirements are tracked and maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain records in accordance with prescribed timelines and standards.
- Maintain accurate and current crew training, qualification, and licensing records.
- Maintain Flight Operations reference materials and controlled documents.
- Support manual revisions and document control processes.
- Coordinate training and qualification updates within the planning cycle.
- Provide administrative support to Flight Operations as required.
- Collaborate with Crew Scheduling, Training, and operational teams to ensure alignment between planning outputs and operational requirements.
- Provide planning inputs to support operational decision-making.
- Coordinate changes impacting crew plans, training schedules, and qualifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Role:
The preferred candidate should exemplify Flair's core values of honesty, efficiency, accountability, and respect while demonstrating success in previous roles. Additionally, we are seeking individuals who possess:
- Education:
- Post-secondary education in Aviation, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience:
- Experience in crew planning, training coordination, or records administration
- Airline experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of CARs, COM, FRMS, Collective Agreements, and CMS systems
- Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and professional documentation.
- Strong organizational, investigative, and follow-up skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to identify documentation deficiencies, control gaps, compliance risks, and process improvement opportunities.
- Ability to interpret regulatory requirements, company policies, and operational procedures, and translate them into practical documentation standards and operational practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, including SOCC, Airports, Flight Operations, Inflight, Customer Service, Legal, Regulatory, Safety, Quality, and Information Technology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with operational systems, reporting tools, document repositories, and compliance trackers.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and deliver high-quality work while managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Requirements:
- Clear criminal record check and satisfactory references.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
