Join our team as a Facility Manager and play a vital role in ensuring our healthcare facility remains safe, compliant, and welcoming for everyone who walks through our doors. Primary Function: The Facilities Manager is responsible for directing and motivating the maintenance team, overseeing all building maintenance and custodial activities. In addition to regular preventative maintenance and adherence to Health and Safety regulations, the successful candidate will work to fix broken equipment and resolve operational issues as they arise. The objective of this role is to ensure that our physicians, staff and tenants have the appropriate physical resources available and in good repair to provide outstanding care and customer service to our patients. A solid understanding of plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems as well as carpentry and other trades is required for this position. The ideal candidate will have a natural interest in building systems, a strong work ethic, and a sense of urgency and is passionate about safety and customer service. Educational Requirements: Proven experience as a facility manager or similar managerial role. Solid technical understanding of building operation systems, parking systems, and other electrical and mechanical equipment. Working knowledge of medical equipment and supplies is an asset. A Diploma or Degree in facility management and/or licensed trade certificate will be an advantage. Other Skills and Attributes: Ability to create a maintenance schedule and troubleshoot. Knowledge of maintenance procedures, Knowledge of systems to be maintained (e.g. Electrical, HVAC, roofing, elevator maintenance and repair) Physical agility, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift heavy loads. Willingness to assist patients when necessary. Flexible and adaptable to change; ability to manage in emergency situations. Ability to remain calm and deescalate stressful situations. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills Outstanding organizational abilities Mechanically inclined Comfortable using computers. While performing these duties the employee is routinely exposed to outside-weather conditions. Good problem-solving skills. Attention to detail. Adaptive and can make decisions under time constraints. Collaborate with the CAO and administrative team Tasks and Duties: Direct team to ensure Clinic building and grounds are clean and safe. Identify areas for improvement and take initiative to resolve issues. Develop maintenance schedules, document maintenance logs, and supervise maintenance staff and outside contractors. Respond professionally to calls that could involve equipment malfunction, fire, security, or medical emergencies, including after hours when necessary. Perform troubleshooting to solve minor repair issues. Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities. Manage security system. Monitor equipment and supply inventory and place orders when necessary. Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance. Manage relationships with contractors and service providers. Ensure health and safety policy compliance. Any other duties needed to ensure the consistent operation of the Clinic.
