Site Security Supervisor - Corporate Security

Pay Rate: $25-$30/hr

Acting as the first point of contact for all day-to-day operations and work-related issues prior to escalating to the Security Operations Manager.
- Being the first point of contact for all customer-related complaints and requests prior to escalating to Security Operations Manager or Client management.
- Ensuring all Guards on shift have received proper training and it has been documented.
- Assisting with Incident Investigation as needed.
- Ensuring that vehicles and work areas are properly maintained and organized.
- Ensuring that all paperwork is properly completed and signed off on. This includes Shift Reports, Incident Reports, Occurrence Book, Alarm Logs, Audits etc.
- Ensuring that proper patrol (tours) have been completed within the required time frame.
- Coordinating the fence line and perimeter checks and ensuring completion of this detail daily.
- Coordinating and ensuring Perimeter, Sprinkler, Fire Extinguisher, Key & Card Audits, Lenel, Shredder box, A-phone audits are completed and submitted.
- Responding to emergency situations that occur on site in accordance with established site procedures.
- Organizing and monitoring security personnel duties (regular and special)
- Providing employees with assistance needed including special escorts or transport and minor vehicle assistance (ex. lockouts and jumpstarts).
- Review and respond to all e-mails in the general security inbox.
- Prepare and distribute Daily Shift Brief.
- Managing any extra coverage guard service and / or guards within their shift.
- Organize and oversee special events as required.
- Writing detailed Incident Reports and forwarding copies to the Operations Manager and Security Manager regarding all issues that arise during their shift according to procedure.
- Responsible for all training of new/other guards on their shift
- Responsible for completion and filing of all shift documentation
- Escorting vendors on site, if required. Including specialized deliveries and pick-ups.
- Other duties as assigned – including those responsibilities listed under Desk Guard, Mobile Guard and Patrol Guard
Position Specifications:
- Thorough understanding of Security Operations
- Must have a high level of experience in dealing with various levels of individuals within their environment and be able to adapt to the various levels of communication required with everyone.
- Must possess the ability to discuss both positive and negative situations with the Operations Manager, Branch Manager and Client Management in such a manner as to ensure that the necessary goal is achieved with a positive result.
- Be able to mediate situations between security guards, tenants and customers in a professional and unbiased manner.
- Accurately assess employee strengths and development needs and provide feedback and coaching as deemed appropriate.
- Must possess and display a willingness and ability to listen and understand all aspects of a particular situation to affect the appropriate resolution with a minimum of distress or conflict.
- Must be prepared to communicate with members of the Management Team in order to effectively deal with day-to-day situations, which may require management involvement.
- Must be able to monitor and control multiple tasks simultaneously, including security guards, management, emergency personnel, telephone answering, etc.
- Have strong organizational skills to ensure optimal service delivery.
Communication/Analytical Skills:
- Must be able to communicate fluently in English in both verbal and written form.
- Must have a clear and professional telephone manner.
- Must be able to relay relevant business information in a professional and concise manner regarding all aspects of the position.
- Must have the ability to write and update Management in such a manner that is clear, concise and deals with day-to-day issues or emergencies.
- Must possess the ability to analyze, create and/or correct issues in order to provide the best possible solution to each individual situation.
- Must possess a basic ability to analyze and understand assignment of guards and clear record keeping providing support in the event of a question and/or concern.
Position Qualifications:
- Graduate of law/security community college or proven long term senior supervisory experience is an asset.
- Must have a comprehensive understanding of all job functions of all personnel working for him/her.
- Energetic, diplomatic, assertive and service oriented, with a positive attitude/disposition.
- Must demonstrate strong interpersonal and negotiating skills.
- Must have strong communication skills, oral and written.
- Must demonstrate good presentation skills.
- Be able to deal with stressful situations quickly and calmly.
- Basic technical knowledge of site security systems, and a demonstrated ability to upgrade that knowledge on the job.
- Strong administrative skills: Proficient in various software applications preferably Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must possess the ability to analyze, create and/or correct issues in order to provide the best possible solution to each individual situation.
Working Conditions:
- Work Environment: Client is a fast-paced environment, with multiple demands on the incumbent. They will be in constant interaction with Client staff, management, human resources, Securitas Management, and other contractors.
- Mental Effort: A high level of concentration and good stress management is required.
- Maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, senior executives, clients and staff, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in high pressure situations.
- Handling and being exposed to sensitive and confidential information
- The incumbent will be required to wear the appropriate uniform
