Company Description: The Cambridge Food Bank is a non-profit organization in Cambridge, Ontario, providing emergency food support to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. Programs include the Client Choice Market and Mobile Food Markets, which provide access to fresh food, along with wellness programs focused on food literacy and overall well-being.
Role Description: The Youth Wellness Coordinator coordinates and facilitates engaging school-based and community-based programming that supports the well-being of children, youth, teens, and families.
This role plans and delivers hands-on learning experiences, including the CFB’s Seed to Plate School Food literacy initiative, focused on nutrition, food literacy, cooking, gardening, food systems, environmental sustainability and overall wellness.
Working closely with the Youth Engagement Coordinator and Wellness Hub team, this position supports the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of programs that build practical food skills, positive relationships with food, and community well-being.
Wage Range: $24.10–$29.45 per hour
Major Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and facilitate school-based and community wellness programs for children, youth, teens, and families Organize logistics for school programs, including scheduling, transportation, supplies, and participant communication Deliver engaging programming in schools, community spaces, and at the Cambridge Food Bank Support recurring Wellness Hub programs and special events Develop inclusive, age-appropriate, and culturally responsive program materials and activities Collaborate with internal teams to design and improve curriculum, lesson plans, and learning resources Maintain accurate program records, including attendance, participation data, and feedback Support reporting through data collection and impact storytelling Ensure safe food handling and sanitation practices are followed at all times Support program registration and maintain up-to-date program information Identify opportunities to improve programming and participant experience Provide referrals to relevant community services when appropriate Perform other duties in support of Wellness Hub and organizational priorities
Qualifications & Requirements Minimum 3 years’ experience coordinating and facilitating programs for children, youth, and families Diploma or degree in Education, Child & Youth Work, Health Promotion, Nutrition, Environmental Studies, Recreation, Community Development, Culinary Arts, or equivalent experience Experience in school-based or community program delivery Strong planning, coordination, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple schedules, priorities, and logistics Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Basic cooking knowledge and understanding of food safety practices Experience working in education, youth work, nutrition, recreation, or community development Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation
Working Conditions Travel between schools, community sites, and the Cambridge Food Bank Program delivery in classrooms, kitchens, gardens, and community spaces One evening per week required, with occasional evenings/weekends for events Physical work, including lifting, carrying, and transporting supplies Flexible schedule with ability to adapt to changing program needs
Hours of Work Monday: 9:00 AM–6:30 PM Tuesday–Friday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM One evening per week required, with occasional weekend programming
