The Grain Buyer is responsible for executing grain procurement and coordination activities in support of ethanol production. The role ensures a consistent and cost-effective feedstock supply through pricing analysis, regulatory compliance, and alignment with production planning and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities Ÿ

Execute grain purchasing activities, including pricing, contracting, and supply coordination Ÿ

Maintain grain and DDGS pricing data aligned with marketing and finance inputs Ÿ

Coordinate feedstock supply plans with production planning and operations teams Ÿ

Support procurement strategy development and long-range planning initiatives Ÿ

Complete and submit required regulatory reporting and renewals (e.g., Clean Fuel Regulations, Canadian Grains Commission) Ÿ

Act as the primary site contact for grain vendors and internal stakeholders Ÿ

Support daily grain marketing and procurement activities Ÿ

Align feedstock availability with production targets in collaboration with operations

Accountabilities Ÿ

Ensure sufficient and timely grain supply to meet production requirements Ÿ

Maintain accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of pricing calculations and reporting Ÿ

Align procurement activities with operational and financial objectives Ÿ

Adhere to Cenovus policies, standards, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

Required Ÿ

Legally entitled to work in Canada Ÿ

Degree or diploma in business, economics, agriculture, or related discipline, or equivalent experience Ÿ

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License Ÿ

Proven ability to manage competing priorities in an operational environment

Preferred Ÿ

Knowledge of grain marketing, commodity markets, or agricultural operations Ÿ

Experience with pricing analysis and market-based purchasing Ÿ

Familiarity with regulatory reporting in agriculture or energy sectors
