We are accepting applications for the following 1.0 FTE permanent Attendance Secretary at F.E Madill Secondary School.
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week, 10 months per year
Rate of Pay: $25.00-$27.78 per hour plus 4% vacation pay as outlined in the OSSTF-ESSP Collective Agreement as of September 1, 2025.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities which may vary depending on school office staffing levels and school practices and procedures:
Attendance Records - Collect and electronically input attendance data each day and review and verify daily attendance deviation reports. Providing assistance to teachers with regards to electronic attendance data collection processes. Provide School Administration with daily/weekly absence reports. In consultation with School Administration, review consecutive absence reports, maintain consecutive absence binder and edit/maintain appropriate Ministry required consecutive absence attendance tracking. Assisting Administration in contacting parents/guardians and performing safe arrival telephone calls regarding student absences in accordance with Board Standard Operating procedure; may include issuing detention slips within set guidelines. Public relations - answer the main office telephone and meet and appropriately direct visitors; relay information to/from school/staff to parent/guardian/student; respond appropriately to general questions from the public, community agencies, other schools, Board office, including re-directing the questions and responding appropriately to confidential requests (i.e. custody arrangements). Filing, copying, faxing, date-entry, processing standard correspondence such as suspension letters. Providing support and performing related duties such as assisting in assigning, tracking and coordinating data related to lockers, textbooks, team uniforms, etc., assisting with various tasks related to school events (e.g. parents' night, commencement, awards night, etc.). Other related duties as assigned.
Job Specifications And Requirements
One year college diploma in office administration plus up to six months related experience; or a combination of experience, education and training that is considered equivalent; Proven computer literacy skills, specifically in MS Office and Aspen; Proficient and accurate keyboarding skills in excess of 80 wpm; The capacity to work independently, problem-solve and multi-task in a busy environment; and, Proven professional, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and a high degree of confidentiality
