YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Mine Assistant General Supervisor, you will be part of the Mine Department, working in conjunction with Underground Front Line Supervisors and collaborating with multiple departments of the mine site. You are a central point of contact for underground operations. You drive a process that allows for real-time assignment of tasks to underground personnel to ensure that targets are achieved. You will orchestrate the work of the Control Room Specialists.

Primary Duties

  • Communicate advance & daily priorities by meeting with the Mine Supervisors

  • Validate previous shift input in Deswik.OPS

  • Validate the blasted rounds in Deswik.OPS and Blast Log

  • Create new locations, activities and cycle in Deswik.OPS

  • Create and maintain a 3-shift plan in Deswik.OPS

  • Input all relevant information and comments in Deswik.OPS during the shift

  • Monitor Development Channel and act as required (Working Alone, fans, Magazines, equipment locations, etc.)

  • Create & maintain operators in Pitram

  • Review and confirm blasts count and locked for the blasting process

  • Ensure and execute weather public announcement

Secondary Duties

  • Import location in Pitram from Deswik.OPS

  • Ensure proper functioning of Control Room software

  • Receive and facilitate all emergency calls on all channel

  • Ensure procedure and work instructions are up to date

  • Create reports as required

  • Prepare Welcome Back and Daily toolbox meetings

  • Ensure announcements for Underground on-shift blast

Required Collaborations

  • UG Mine Management: Produce report using the Control Room data and provide analysis.

  • UG Supervisors: Maintain an open communication and feedback channel to ensure optimal data and information collection. Collaborate for task assignation and shift alignment.

  • UG Ventilation Specialist: Collaborate to ensure optimal ventilation for after blast gas clearance.

  • UG Miners: Provide information and assistance as needed. Collaborate with the on-shift data collection.

  • UG Engineering: Collaborate to maintain Deswik.OPS workplaces and schedule up to

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Mine Technologist Post-Secondary Degree or equivalent is an asset;

  • Minimum of 3 years in underground mine operations or mine engineering experience is a requirement;

  • 2 years of experience in a leadership role is an asset;

  • Possession or ability to obtain a WSCC Mine Supervisor ticket is a requirement;

  • Demonstrate working knowledge and understanding of efficient mining practices, procedures and regulations is a requirement;

  • Experience using a Fleet Management System and scheduling software is an asset;

  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize and work under tight deadlines on multiple initiatives;

  • Resourcefulness and creative problem-solving skills;

  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;

  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Note that the official working language at Meliadine is English.

Your Work Schedule:

  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;

  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
