About the role
Our client, a well-established downtown Edmonton law firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support lawyers practicing in Commercial Litigation and Condominium Property Law. This full-time position is ideal for a highly organized, proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment.
What's Offered: Remote work eligibility following the probationary period Work life balance, hours 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. with a 75-minute lunch break Comprehensive benefits package RRSP matching program Key Responsibilities: Draft legal correspondence and communicate with clients. Prepare litigation documents, briefs, and trial materials. Assist with pre-trial and trial preparation, including managing trial binders and limitation dates. Schedule court applications, questionings, meetings, and maintain lawyer calendars. Manage workflow for a team of lawyers, including time entry, billing, file management, and general administrative support. Qualifications: 4–6 years of legal assistant experience, including at least 2 years in litigation. Strong knowledge of Alberta King's Bench litigation procedures. Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills. Ability to anticipate next steps in the litigation process, manage competing priorities, and work both independently and collaboratively.
