On behalf of our client, a family-owned and operated funeral home serving the Kentville community, we are looking for a Bookkeeper to join their growing team.

The Opportunity: This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper who is looking for a stable position with flexibility in the number of hours worked each week. The Bookkeeper will manage the day-to-day financial responsibilities of the business, including account reconciliation, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable and invoicing. The position offers between 25 and 35 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours if desired. This is a fully in-office role located in Kentville.
The Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate has previous bookkeeping experience and is confident in managing several financial responsibilities independently. They are experienced with Sage and comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. They are organized, dependable and able to identify and resolve discrepancies while maintaining accurate financial records. Strong attention to detail, discretion and the ability to manage confidential information are important for this position.

Qualifications: Certification in Business Administration, Accounting, Office Management or a related field Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience Experience using Sage Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail Strong organizational skills Legally eligible to work in Canada on a permanent basis
Benefits $28.00 to $35.00 per hour, based on experience 25 to 35 hours per week, with the potential for increased hours if desired Fully covered health care benefits Pension plan Two weeks of vacation Monday to Friday schedule Flexible scheduling based on the number of hours worked Full-time hours may be scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Fully in-office position located in Kentville, Nova Scotia
