The CNE, often affectionately referred to as The Ex, is Canada’s largest community event and one of the top ten agricultural fairs in North America, attracting approximately 1.6 million visitors annually over the course of its 18-day run. ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and the Admissions & Administration Specialist, the Operations Clerical Assistant’s role will be to provide clerical assistance to the CNE Operations team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in numbering, tracking and distributing work orders
  • Assist in all Event Services & Operations Department work orders
  • Assist in updating and distributing various documents (manuals, letters, procedures, etc.)
  • Typing correspondence, filing, photocopying, and processing mail
  • Answering telephone, taking and relaying messages
  • Tracking all returned Health & Safety Acknowledgement forms
  • Assist in the production of ID badges
  • Assist others within the Event Services & Operations Dept. with various tasks
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be available to work August 21st to September 7th, weekends and evenings when required
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in administrative work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • Comfortable answering phones and interacting with staff, vendors, and the public
  • Previous clerical, administrative, or office experience considered an asset
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and professional in demeanor
  • Ability to perform repetitive administrative tasks with accuracy and efficiency
  • Flexible and willing to assist with additional departmental duties as required
