The Mining, Oil and Gas Branch is responsible for the development of Manitoba’s mining, oil and gas resources through the delivery of appropriate tenures and regulatory services, all of which are highly dependent on current legislation, regulations, policies and best management practices to ensure the province is positioned as a global leader in the sector and emerging critical mineral market.

Duties:
The Tenure Specialist provides exceptional customer service to a diverse clientele by phone, email and in person for the administration of dispositions as well as the accurate review and processing of applications according to eligibility requirements and standardized processes. This position is required to exercise considerable judgement to make responsible decisions based on the interpretation of Acts, Regulations, policies and standard industry practises.
Qualifications:
Essential:

Experience performing administrative and/or clerical duties in an office environment such as data entry, processing applications, maintaining records, responding to inquiries, answering phones, preparing documents and filing.

Experience interpreting, explaining and applying Acts, regulations, policies and/or procedures for the purpose of analyzing applications, agreements and legal requirements.
-
Excellent interpersonal skills to work as part of a team, maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and manage challenging situations.

Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with the public and staff in person, by phone, and in writing.
-
Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare, edit and format documents with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage interruptions, establish priorities, meet deadlines within tight timelines and manage high workload.

Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.

Experience working with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and databases.
Desired:
- Knowledge of mineral or quarry tenure administration practises, procedures and processes.
- Experience providing front line service to the public that includes the responsibility for accepting and processing payments.
