About the role

POSITION SUMMARY: As the Tenant and Program Coordinator at Lloydminster Region Housing Group, you are responsible for overseeing the implementation and management of tenants and programs that support vulnerable populations in the region. This role ensures that housing initiatives align with provincial policies and local community needs, promoting accessible, sustainable, and affordable housing solutions.

 

RESPONSIBLE TO: The Tenant and Program Coordinator shall be hired by, and will report to, the Controller or their designate. The Tenant and Program Coordinator may periodically be assigned duties not outlined below.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Program Management and Implementation: Coordinate and execute housing programs that comply with Alberta’s housing strategy and address local needs. Manage the full lifecycle of housing projects, including planning, waitlist management, execution, monitoring, and evaluation. 
  2. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with government entities, non-profit organizations, community groups, and residents to enhance program effectiveness through strategic partnerships and feedback integration. 
  3. Compliance, Budgets and Reporting: Ensure all housing programs meet provincial regulations and standards. Prepare detailed progress and outcome reports for senior management and relevant governmental bodies. Works with the Controller for annual proposed maintenance budgets for LRHG. Provide the Ministry of Assisted Living and Social Services with required reporting as required.
  4. Tenant/Resident Program Qualifications and Management: Manage applications, priority listing and portal management, move in’s/out’s, suite condition reports, and rental rates and renewals.
  5. Tenant/Resident Complaints Management: Address and resolve tenant/resident complaints efficiently and effectively. Develop and implement strategies to manage and mitigate issues, ensuring a responsive and tenant-focused approach. Maintain open lines of communication to foster a supportive and understanding environment, ultimately enhancing tenant satisfaction and community well-being. 
  6. Project Coordination: Coordinates tasks with maintenance employees and contractors for LRHG for quick suite turnover. Complete Requests for Proposals (RFP) for approved CMR projects for approval, execution, monitoring and reporting as per Government process. Access emergency funds when needed. Complete housing insurance claims for Alberta Social Housing Corporation (ASHC).
  7. Community Outreach: Identify housing needs through community outreach efforts and enhance public awareness of available programs.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Evaluate program and financial processes to identify and implement improvements and innovations within housing services. 
  9. Keeping current and up to date on Act and Regulation changes. 
  10. Participating and promoting a culture that reflects LRHG’s values. 

HOURS of WORK:

The position requires an eight (8) hour workday. Office hours are typically Monday to Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work for community meetings or program events.

The role involves regular travel to various sites within Lloydminster and area region.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in, Public Administration, Social Work, Human Services, or related field preferred.
  • Construction/project management experience would be an asset. 
  • Knowledge of fiscal management, risk management, business finance, capital funding, contracts, and partnerships. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in program management, preferably in housing or community development.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Alberta’s housing policies, regulations, and funding mechanisms.
  • Strong capabilities in managing budgets, and Government reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, effective in diverse stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and financial management software. Must have a criminal record clearance, which establishes the absence of a vulnerable criminal record as required by Alberta Legislation. 
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills. 
  • Must be physically fit and in general good health with the ability to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs. and be able to be on your feet for long periods of time. 
  • Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector clearance.
  • Class 5 driver’s license, clean drivers abstract and reliable vehicle.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills in English language.

SALARY: As per salary grid.
