Where Work Meets the Wild West Coast

At Nootka Marine Adventures, we take pride in providing exceptional service and unforgettable experiences for our guests. We operate three premier resorts on Vancouver Island’s rugged west coast: Moutcha Bay Resort, Nootka Sound Resort, and Newton Cove Resort.

We are dedicated to preserving the timeless art of sport fishing while nurturing the next generation of anglers. Our mission is to provide an unparalleled luxury fishing experience that not only immerses our guests in the natural beauty of our surroundings but also instills a deep appreciation for fishing and the environment.

About The Role

Do you thrive on bringing order to complexity? Are you the person who naturally keeps projects moving, teams aligned, and priorities on track?

As our Commercial Support Manager, you'll be the operational leader behind the Commercial Department. Working alongside the Commercial Manager, you'll ensure the department runs smoothly by coordinating people, projects, systems, events, and priorities.

If you enjoy being the conductor of the orchestra rather than one of the musicians, this role is for you. You'll create the structure, coordination, and accountability that allows the Commercial Department to perform at its highest level. You'll make sure the right people are doing the right work at the right time while removing obstacles, improving processes, and keeping everything moving forward.

Leading the Reservations and Sales team, you will coordinate commercial initiatives, oversee key systems and reporting, and act as the operational backbone that allows the Commercial Manager to focus on strategy, partnerships, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day coordination of the Commercial Department, ensuring priorities remain on track. Partner with the Commercial Manager to turn strategy into actionable plans, timelines, and deliverables. Act as the operational lead when the Commercial Manager is unavailable. Serve as the central point of coordination between Commercial Operations and Resort Operations. Lead and support the Reservations and Sales team through coaching, scheduling, and performance management. Coordinate departmental meetings, assign action items, and follow through to completion. Monitor workloads, competing priorities, and deadlines while keeping projects moving forward. Coordinate commercial projects from planning through successful execution. Organize and oversee trade shows, fishing derbies, hosted events, FAM tours, and other commercial initiatives. Maintain oversight of commercial systems including reservation software, CRM, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and AI-enabled tools. Identify opportunities to improve workflows, systems, and operational efficiency through process improvements and technology. Develop and maintain departmental documentation, SOPs, templates, guidebooks, and knowledge resources. Ensure commercial materials, pricing information, proposals, and presentations remain accurate and up to date. Prepare and monitor departmental reports, dashboards, forecasts, and KPI reports. Identify trends, gaps, and operational risks, providing recommendations to improve performance. Support budget tracking, vendor coordination, invoices, and commercial administration. Build strong working relationships across departments to ensure effective communication and collaboration. Hold team members accountable for commitments while fostering a positive, high-performing culture. Continuously improve the structure, organization, and effectiveness of the Commercial Department by ensuring the right people, systems, and processes work together seamlessly

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in tourism, hospitality, administration, reservations, project coordination, or a related field. Previous leadership or supervisory experience. Exceptional organizational and project management skills. Experience managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines. High proficiency with Microsoft 365 and commercial technology platforms. Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills. A continuous improvement mindset with the confidence to make decisions and hold others accountable.

What We Expect From You

Every employee plays a key role in creating a professional, welcoming, and solution-focused environment for our guests. Working with us is an opportunity to be part of a respectful, hard-working, and supportive community in one of the most stunning locations and renowned fishing grounds in British Columbia.

We're looking for someone who:

Naturally creates structure, process, clarity, and accountability. Enjoys coordinating more than completing every task themselves. Leads by supporting others to succeed. Communicates clearly and confidently across multiple teams. Thinks ahead, anticipates problems, and keeps projects moving. Is organized, adaptable, and comfortable making decisions. Takes ownership while building collaboration and trust. Continuously looks for better systems, smarter processes, and improved efficiency.

If you enjoy connecting with people, learning new skills, and being part of a team that feels like family, you’ll thrive here!

What You Can Expect From Us

Competitive salary based on experience. A collaborative leadership team committed to continuous improvement. Opportunities for professional development and career growth. The opportunity to help shape the future of one of British Columbia's premier fishing and adventure tourism companies. A positive, respectful, and supportive workplace built on teamwork and shared success.
