Job summary

Position Scope The Inventory & Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing inventory, processing incoming shipments, and ensuring the accurate handling and storage of goods to support efficient warehouse operations. Key Responsibilities Receiving and Inspection: Receive incoming shipments, unload trucks, and inspect items for damage or defects. Verify that shipment contents match packing lists and warehouse receipts, and report any discrepancies to supervisors. Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of all stock items using manual or computerized inventory systems. Conduct physical stock counts (cycle counts) and update records to resolve any discrepancies. Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and label products in accordance with customer orders and company procedures. Ensure packages are securely wrapped, often on pallets, and properly prepared for shipment. Stock Organization: Store items in an organized and accessible manner, determining optimal storage locations based on product turnover and warehouse capacity. Warehouse Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment. Ensure storage areas, tools, and equipment comply with safety and operational standards. Skills and Requirements: Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, push, or pull moderately heavy items as required in warehouse operations. Technical Proficiency: Proficieny in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), barcode scanners, and basic office software for data entry and recordkeeping. Equipment Operation: Experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks is preferred. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to accurately match product codes, identify damaged items, and prevent shipping errors. Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, suppliers, and delivery drivers to support efficient workflow.
