In this role you will provide a broad range of confidential and executive level support to the Associate Vice-President Labour Relations (AVPLR) and Senior Policy Advisor, Labour Relations. Duties are broad, varied and often of a confidential nature requiring considerable use of initiative, tact, diplomacy, discretion, and excellent judgement. The incumbent is responsible for balancing the complex and competing priorities of the AVPLR which involves strategically maintaining their schedule, identifying and tracking completion of outstanding matters, managing associated logistics, and triaging as appropriate to meet the demands of a challenging, diverse, and high volume environment. In addition to the general administration of the Office, the incumbent is responsible for providing budget support to the AVPLR including the preparation of year-end budget and forecast submissions. The Executive Assistant plays an important role in coordinating the overall Office of the AVPLR including with respect to file and records management. The Executive Assistant assesses the importance and urgency of issues or problems that arise, prioritizes the issues, and alerts the Associate Vice-President Labour Relations or other managers of potential problems or conflicts, and refers matters to other managers within the Associate Vice-President Labour Relations or Vice-President Equity, People & Culture portfolio as appropriate.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:
University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a business-related field. Minimum of 5 years' related experience providing a full range of executive support to a senior leader or administrator in a complex institutional environment.
