As a member of RBC Corporate Real Estate (Functions) team, you’ll get to work with an energetic global group that represents some of the most talented professionals in the Canadian FI real estate world. Working under a fluid CRE communications model, we strive to deliver high-quality strategic solutions/assistance while creating efficiencies and tools to promote a self-serve process for the team.

This internship presents opportunities to work cross-functionally with leaders across the CRE Team while advancing the recently identified 2024/5 communications goals. Strong organizational skills, verbal and written skills and business acumen are key tools in this role. A successful CRE Communications & Administration Coordinator also possesses structure, attention to detail, quality focus, high energy and flexibility in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.

The RBC Corporate Real Estate team manages approximately 24 million square feet of real estate in 2,300 locations across the globe. RBC’s real estate portfolio includes several different types of properties including office space, retail stores, client-facing office space, data centres, operations centres, and other critical facilities. CRE’s mission is to deliver cost effective real estate solutions that support the strategic goals of RBC’s business units.

Job Description

What will you do?

  • Work closely with the Chief of Staff to prepare, develop, and deliver a variety of communications that are delivered to the Global CRE team

  • Organize and coordinate the communications calendar while working alongside all CRE Committees as well as delivering day-to-day CRE communications

  • Assisting with support of CRE Executive team initiatives

  • Cross-collaborate with various portfolios across the CRE department to support new projects, initiatives, and/or events

  • Gain insight and perspective into the financial services industry by sourcing and developing interesting and engaging content for RBC’s internal and external communication channels

  • Leverage your creativity and innovative thinking by contributing to the planning and delivery of employee engagement activities, including town halls and team events.

  • Expand your writing and website planning skills

  • Build your network by supporting enterprise-wide signature initiatives including executing tactical plans for rolling out new Communications programs.

  • Take the lead on an internal CRE project with exciting creative and communications possibilities while also working on strategies for streamline the communications and tech processes for a busy functions team.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-haves

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Keen attention to detail with project management capabilities

  • Motivation and a strong desire to learn.

  • Knowledge of and interest in intranet design, flow and editing

  • Creativity and curiosity

  • A collaborative, team-player mindset

  • Ability to organize, prioritize, multi-task and solve problems efficiently.

  • High attention to detail

  • High degree of integrity and confidentiality

  • High proficiency in Microsoft applications - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc…)

    Nice-to-have

  • Previous Corporate Communications experience

  • Design and Intranet skills

  • Demonstrated record of academic success with diverse range of extracurricular activities

  • While previous knowledge of retail or office real estate is not a requirement, any background in CRE is an asset.
