Become an Executive Assistant to General Counsel with MPAC

The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is made up of a team of experts who understand local communities and assess every property in Ontario. Here's what you will do as part of the team:

  • Receive, review and distribute all correspondence directed to the office of the General Counsel and follow up on all outstanding issues in a timely manner;
  • Respond to routine enquiries either verbally or in writing using discretion in the release of information;
  • Prepare documents, reports and presentations in a professional manner according to the specifications and adherence to MPAC standards;
  • Plan travel and meeting arrangements for the General Counsel and Associate General Counsel and the legal team as required;
  • Provide input into annual budgeting process and input budget information into SAP financial system;
  • Examine and process all expenditure documents, ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures; and
  • Reconcile suppliers' Statements of Account, resolving any discrepancies as required.

Here's what you will need to succeed:

  • At least 5 years of administrative experience supporting senior management; with at least 2 years Executive Assistant experience;
  • General knowledge of budgeting and purchasing processes;
  • Advanced proficiency in all Microsoft Office suite applications: Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Good organization, time management and communication skills;
  • Ability to pay great attention to detail and work under pressure; and
  • A team player, with a strong customer service orientation.

Nice to have:

  • Completion of a college/university program in Administrative or related studies;
  • Knowledge of administrative and expense related policies and procedures;
  • General knowledge of relevant acts (e.g., Assessment Act, Municipal Act, Education Act);
  • Experience using an ERP/HRIS system (SAP preferred) and Data Tracking System; and
  • Legal experience and training, including the preparation of time-sensitive legal documents and materials.
