RVA's Proposal team is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Proposal Writer to hit the ground running and support their competitive proposal process and marketing initiatives.

Duties:

  • Assessing proposal requirements, developing compliant proposal outlines, and compiling, editing, and writing standard proposal components in adherence to RFQ/RFP requirements.
  • Navigating and/or researching within our internal systems to obtain necessary information/ documentation.
  • Project managing multiple proposal submissions at once, often within multiple disciplines, to help achieve company goals.
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts, often located in multiple geographical locations, to obtain information needed to respond to client requirements.
  • Attending and participating in proposal strategy meetings to identify key issues and differentiators to highlight and capture in submissions.
  • Compiling content elements from various subject matter experts and turning it into clear, persuasive proposals that are technically correct and clearly convey the proposal strategy.
  • Formatting proposal components to comply with client requirements and internal branding guidelines.
  • Performing quality control to contribute to high-quality, compliant, and responsive submissions.
  • Attend internal debriefings with clients to gather information for future submissions.
  • Providing and participating in ongoing communications with internal teams as required.
  • Undertaking additional research, including reference interviews with subject matter experts, to effectively assist in editing and writing internal and external communications, including marketing materials and collateral, award submissions, abstracts, case studies, articles, and media releases, etc.
  • Assisting with other marketing and corporate initiatives as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent diploma, in Communications, English, Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
  • 3-5 years of proposal-related experience is required. Previous experience in a professional service firm is preferred.
  • Able to manage and prioritize changes and enforce deadlines to ensure on-time delivery of proposals.
  • Entrepreneurial, confident, self-starter with the ability to take initiative and manage adversity.
  • Able to manage and deliver multiple projects at once under tight timelines; thrives in a dynamic, fast paced, high pressure environment.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Office 365.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a team with staff at all levels throughout the company.
  • High level of attention to detail to ensure compliance with public-sector client requirements.
  • Able to convert complex technical information into everyday language easily understood by a general audience.
