DUTIES

The Marine Institute of Memorial University is a technically oriented education, training and applied research institution. The successful applicant will be responsible for administrative support functions within Academic & Student Affairs. Duties include filing; distributing mail; taking minutes of meetings and preparing correspondence; managing student affairs databases; preparing and distributing information packages to perspective and current students; assisting with travel logistics; coordinating and assisting with on-campus tours and events; following-up with enquiries from prospective and current students; and performing other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (1-3 years) in office administrative work; graduation with a diploma from a two-year program in business administration or secretarial science; an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. Strong aptitude and experience with records management and a variety of computer applications including Microsoft Office and database management systems are required. Knowledge of the Marine Institute, its programmes, services, and clients are assets. Experience in customer service and dealing with the public is also an asset, as well as the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

SALARY $45,676 to $53,580 per annum (NAPE Local 7850)
