As an Electrical and Instrumentation Scheduler you will be responsible for developing and publishing a rolling 3-week schedule for all the Electrical and Instrumentation maintenance activities that occur at the Saint John Refinery. The maintenance schedule is a key element in our maintenance process which supports our goals to be a world leader in safe and reliable operation.

This position is a key member of the maintenance team that works collaboratively with schedulers of other disciplines, operations, planning and execution teams. You will be required to spend some time in the field so you must be able comfortably and safely walk and climb in that environment and wear all PPE as required, year-round, in all types of weather.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Champion a safe work environment; hold all contractors and other on-site personnel to company, industry, and regulatory standards of working safely.

  • Follow the defined scheduling process to develop and maintain a 3-week schedule verifying that routine maintenance tasks and all other assigned work activities are scheduled.

  • Ensure that the weekly scheduling milestones are met.

  • Review maintenance plans as developed by the Planning Team and identify all resources required to complete the work and then ensure that these requirements are scheduled and secured. This also includes field walks.

  • Lead regularly occurring scheduling meetings; identify resource challenges or other work conflicts.

  • Review daily updates against the published schedule and provide support for schedule changes.

Your Skills:

  • Must have strong organizational and coordination skills and be able to multitask in a fast placed environment.

  • Have a proactive outlook to be able to identify risk in the schedule and take action to mitigate, e.g. suppliers unavailable, damaged or lost deliveries, contractors not understand the proper scope, etc..

  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills to ensure a clear understanding of responsibilities and expectations of all involved parties and stakeholders.

  • Ability to work flexible hours when required.

Your Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience either in refinery equipment operation or maintenance.

  • Previous experience with planning and scheduling maintenance activities is a definite asset.

  • Experience within the field of Industrial Electrical or Instrumentation would be an asset but is not a requirement. Experience working in other industrial building trades would also be an asset.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook is required.

  • Proficiency with Oracle eAM, Viziya Work Align Scheduler, or Primavera P6, or similar software would be an asset.

  • Ability to work alone and with a team is essential.
