Position Summary


Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Scheduler is accountable for creating and maintaining the overall production plan to meet operational and customer requirements and to ensure the optimal utilization of company resources. They are also accountable for, incumbent balances, raw supply, and production to ensure operational requirements align with sales forecasts and customer orders. The position works closely with the Production Control Analyst to coordinate planning of activities.



Key Accountabilities



  • Responsible for creating and maintaining the production plan;

  • Ensures operation meets shipping dates according to sales forecasts and customer orders;

  • Develop daily and weekly production schedules using the capacity plan: Plan and schedule workflows and operations according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times;

  • Responsible for the integration/alignment of sales forecasts, raw material in process, and finished goods inventories, equipment capacities and staffing to meet production targets requirements;

  • Create reports on a daily and weekly basis for internal and external customers, including but not limited to inventories, shorts, production, rework, etc.

  • Sign and approve invoices;

  • Track daily and weekend overtime work completed for production;

  • Adjusts schedule to meet changing needs (e.g. equipment breakdowns);

  • Makes recommendations on production schedules;

  • Makes schedule adjustments within fixed parameters;

  • Must work to set deadlines;

  • Role will cover the Production Control Analyst as required;

  • Other duties as assigned.




Requirements



  • Diploma in Materials Management or Production Planning or equivalent experience;

  • 3-5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment with specific exposures to planning, coordinating and scheduling production operations;

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing food processes;

  • Advanced skill in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook);

  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.


Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM start, Some OT as required
