Via Rail is Canada’s national railway service. It operates in 450 communities across Canada using 12,500 kilometres of track over eight provinces. It provides a safe and efficient method of transportation for users from coast to coast and as far north as Hudson Bay. It has a fleet of 426 passenger cars, 78 locomotives and 159 railway stations. It transported 4.4 million passengers in 2017.  Its most used and popular corridor is that of Quebec City to Windsor, Ontario with a ridership of more than 4.1 million passengers in 2017.

Positions range from customer service and management to the service and maintenance of the railway cars and locomotives in their four modern and well- equipped maintenance facilities. Diesel engine mechanics, railway car mechanics, locomotive engineers and electricians are currently being sought.
