JOB SUMMARY The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for residents, families, visitors, staff, and other stakeholders at The Emerald. This position creates a welcoming and professional environment by greeting and assisting visitors, responding to and directing telephone calls and inquiries, and providing information based on individual needs. The Receptionist also provides administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient operation of the front desk while consistently reflecting Elim Village’s Mission, Key Characteristics, and Critical Actions and a commitment to exceptional customer service. QUALIFICATIONS * Post-secondary education in Office or Business Administration is preferred * Minimum two years of experience in reception, administration or customer service * Previous experience in senior living, health care, hospitality or a similar customer-service environment is an asset * Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills, with the ability to learn new technology SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Excellent telephone etiquette and written and verbal communication skills * Compassionate and comfortable working with older adults and their families * Highly organized, dependable and able to manage multiple priorities * Able to exercise sound judgment and remain calm and professional in challenging situations * Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team * Professional, flexible, adaptable and committed to providing exceptional customer service KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Greet and assist residents, families, visitors and staff in a warm and professional manner * Answer telephone calls and respond to or appropriately direct inquiries * Assist residents and families with general questions, requests and concerns with patience, empathy and respect * Support visitor sign-in procedures and established safety and security protocols * Process payments, guest meal orders, program/event registrations and other front desk services * Receive and distribute mail, deliveries and correspondence * Maintain accurate records, forms and front desk supplies * Provide general administrative and clerical support to the Community Life team * Maintain confidentiality and follow established privacy, safety and emergency procedure * Keep the reception area organized, welcoming and professional * Perform other related duties as assigned NOTES * This is a casual position * This position is subject to union membership * Wage Rate: $26.27 - 27.99
