Role Description The Legal Administrative Assistant is a full-time, in office role based in the Greater Montreal Metropolitan Area, with some work-from-home flexibility. This role supports lawyers by preparing and formatting legal documents, maintaining case files, and organizing court and client-related documentation. The Legal Administrative Assistant manages calendars, schedules meetings and hearings, coordinates client communications, and assists with billing and time entry. Day-to-day tasks also include handling incoming calls and emails, maintaining office records and databases, and ensuring that deadlines and procedural requirements are met. The person in this role collaborates closely with team members to support efficient file management and high-quality client service in both official languages, as applicable. Qualifications Solid understanding of law and legal processes, with experience or education related to civil, commercial, real estate, or penal law considered an asset. Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting, formatting, proofreading, and managing contracts, pleadings, and correspondence. Strong communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, client service orientation, and ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders. Proven administrative assistance capabilities, such as calendar management, file organization, data entry, and coordination of meetings and deadlines. Excellent organization skills, including attention to detail, time management, and the ability to prioritize multiple matters in a fast-paced legal environment. Bilingual proficiency in English and French, both spoken and written, or strong willingness to develop language skills in a bilingual setting. Comfort with legal and office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, document management systems) and basic knowledge of electronic filing procedures. Diploma or degree in legal administration, paralegal studies, office administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
