Job summary
Overview This position is Temporary Part-Time for approximately 4 months. Provides front-line customer service using recreation system software and point of sale software to register patrons, book rooms and sell admissions into pool and pay as you play programs. Enter payroll for part time 9000 series staff; maintains City website pages; creates and advertises posters for all leisure and aquatic programs; provides administrative support to supervisors and program coordinators. Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 12:45pm to 5:15pm Responsibilities Provides front line customer service including program registration, admission of patrons to programs and assistance to facility rentals. Provides information on programs and services to the public. Uses point of sale system (cash, credit card, debit) to sell admissions to pools and gym, bus tickets, special event tickets, as well as aquatics items (clothing, goggles, manuals). Uses ActiveNet membership, registration and rental systems. Uses PeopleSoft to perform weekly payroll time entry and confirmation for part time staff, in accordance with deadlines. Prepares rental contracts and facility agreements. Performs deposits, Processes refunds within policy/guidelines, reviews daily receipts, balances to ActiveNet reports and corrects and records errors. Updates aquatic webpages on City of Kitchener website. Uses Microsoft Publisher and information provided by others to design flyers. Provides clerical and financial support to centre staff. Ensures a safe and secure environment for patrons and staff. Provides emergency procedure back-up and support to Aquatic Staff in the event of an emergency. Performs other related duties as assigned. Education Minimum grade 12 diploma or equivalent. Experience Minimum of 1 year job related experience. Additional Requirements Valid Standard First Aid Certificate and CPR C or be willing to obtain within 3 months post-hire. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Familiarity of pool regulations and Aquatics courses including Lifesaving Society, Leadership courses and the Lifesaving Society Swim program. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision. Exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills with a customer service focus. Ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines in a busy environment. Accurate data entry skills and demonstrated aptitude for mathematical and financial applications. Ability to support and project values compatible with the organization and to participate as an effective team member. Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.

Requirements
Requires a minimum of a grade 12 diploma and at least one year of related job experience. Candidates must possess or be willing to obtain a Standard First Aid and CPR C certificate.
