The Carefirst Family Health Team (FHT) is seeking full-time/part-time permanent Medical Receptionists to join our innovative, interdisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality, community-based care. About Us Carefirst FHT is committed to delivering exceptional, comprehensive primary care through a collaborative, team-based model that includes family physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, service navigators, dieticians, physiotherapists, and medical receptionists. We have a robust Chronic Disease Management and Prevention program, including a Diabetes Education Program, and are actively involved in many of the Ontario Health Team’s primary care initiatives. Our “Hub & Spoke Model” and strong community partnerships ensure coordinated, high-quality, patient‑centred care across the continuum. We work closely with Carefirst Seniors & Community Services Association to provide truly integrated services. On‑site & Integrated Programs/Services include: * Ontario Health atHome (formerly Home and Community Care Support Services) * MINT Memory Clinic * Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP) Program * Specialist Clinics: psychiatry, cardiology, endocrinology, optometry, geriatric medicine, gynecology, chiropody, rheumatology, physiotherapy, and audiology Clinic Locations We currently operate five well-established clinics across Scarborough, Markham, Richmond Hill, and Stouffville and continue to expand in Markham to support continued growth and community needs. Current clinic locations: * 300 Silver Star Blvd, Scarborough (Midland / McNicoll) * 420 Hwy 7 East, Richmond Hill (West Beaver Creek / Hwy 7) * 360 Highway 7 East, Richmond Hill (Highway 7 / Chalmers Rd) * 105 Gibson Centre, Markham (Steeles Ave East/Warden Ave) * 37 Sandiford Drive, Stouffville (Stouffville Main St/Sandiford Dr) Upcoming new clinic locations: * Unionville Commons Seniors Hub, Markham (Unionville Main Street/Highway 7 East) Employees will be assigned to a location that aligns with the operation needs, with occasional rotation to support clinic operations. Pay range: $37,000 - $42,000 annually Responsibilities: • Provide administrative and clinical support at the front desk to ensure smooth daily operations of the Family Health Team • Greet and receive patients for various physicians and other healthcare practitioners, coordinate efficient patient flow, and provide professional and caring interaction with patients • Responsible for booking appointments, scheduling patients, and providing follow-up; answering the phones, photocopying, receiving faxes and medical reports, and then scanning into the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system • Collect and process OHIP billing on a weekly basis • Maintain and manage patient files, charts, and records while safeguarding patient confidentiality Requirements: • Diploma in Health Care Administration, Medical Office Administration, or related discipline • At least 1 years’ front desk experience, in a healthcare setting preferred • Exceptional telephone etiquette and customer service skills • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail • Knowledge of OHIP billing and coding • Strong interpersonal skills, as well as being able to accept work from various sources (physicians, nurses, office manager) • Well organized and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, and EMR (Telus Practice Solutions) is an asset • Available to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends • Fluent in English and a second language that reflects the community served, such as Cantonese, Mandarin, is an asset • A valid vulnerable sector police record check completed within one year Benefits: • Dental Care • Extended Health Care • HOOPP • Comprehensive Orientation Program • Training and Education Subsidy Application Deadline: August 31, 2026 Interested applicants may apply through Carefirst’s careers page, Indeed, or by emailing [email protected] [[email protected]] Carefirst is an equal opportunity employer.
