We are looking for conscientious, detail-oriented, senior law clerk with a minimum of five years experience in personal injury litigation to join our team. Interested candidates are asked to email their resume and cover letter to Erin Farrell (efarrell@bolandromaine.com) About the role We need someone that will provide dependable legal support to lawyers handling personal injury and litigation matters in a full-time, on-site capacity. Day-to-day responsibilities include: File management requiring proactively moving files from intake to trial in a timely manner. The candidate must have the ability to review a file and assess next steps. Diligent management of limitation periods and deadlines; tracking, requesting and managing productions Preparing correspondence, requesting records, scheduling, updating and maintaining disclosure charts. Drafting affidavit of documents, memos, file summaries and motions. Qualifications A minimum five-years experience with Ontario personal injury litigation, accident benefits litigation, or related civil litigation. Relevant post-secondary education in law, legal studies, or a law clerk/paralegal program. Solid understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure, the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule, and LAT procedures. Excellent interpersonal and client service skills, strong initiative and ability to work in a team oriented atmosphere. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Office, and Primafact as well as the technical skills to learn newer software. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with lawyers, opposing counsel, and clients. Exceptional skills and knowledge of discovery preparation. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines and limitation periods. Trial and hearing preparation.

Candidates should understand the Rules of Civil Procedure, the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule, and LAT procedures, and have strong discovery preparation, organizational, communication, client service, and teamwork skills, plus proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Primafact.
