Basic purpose of Position:

Translate (from English to French and occasionally from French to English), revise and proofread company documents for all departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate a wide range of general and specialized/technical documents for different departments within Jazz and for Jazz’s Canadian affiliates.
• Translate JazzNet pages (titles, links and contents).
• Ensure translated documents are of high quality and are delivered in a timely matter to meet internal and regulatory needs.
• Revise French and English documents as required to meet quality standards and deadlines.
• Compare documents in both official languages to ensure consistency and proofread material as required.
• Help find solutions to unresolved translations.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders.
• Answer questions pertaining to terminology submitted by internal stakeholders.
• Conduct subject matter research using various reference material, websites and on-line tools.
• Make suggestions to internal stakeholders regarding terminology.
• Create terminology entries in Logiterm.
• Insert reference documents in English and French in current database for the creation of bitexts.
• Other related duties as assigned.
• Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of co-workers and customers.

Qualifications:

• A post-secondary degree/diploma in translation is required.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Translator including at least two years in a supervised work environment is required.
• Membership of the “Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés du Québec” (Translators’ Association) is an asset.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is required.
• Knowledge of Logiterm is an asset.
• Great organizational skills and initiative are required.
• Bilingualism (speak, read, write in French and English) is required.
