The Executive Assistant provides complex high-level confidential support primarily to the Executive Director and secondarily to the Directors and Associate Director(s). This includes management of projects related to strategic priorities with coordinating oversight of integrated/cross functional initiatives, ensuring progress toward overarching objectives of York International. This position manages and exercises sound judgment concerning the administrative details associated with coordinating matters related to the University's internationalization and global engagement plan, and the priorities of the senior university leadership and their respective offices. The Executive Assistant routinely facilitates the handling of critical issues, anticipates and resolves escalations, and sensitive cases, including student cases as well as advises the Executive Director and Directors on an appropriate course of action by applying policies/procedures and analyzing records, referral and follow-up. The incumbent is responsible for developing and maintaining positive relations for York International with stakeholders both internal to facilitate operational success and external to promote a positive image of the University when dealing with international issues that affect the university, global learning programs and partners, and international students. This role reports to the Executive Director, York International and is part of the YI administrative team.This position requires a student-focused professional who shares and lives the Division of Students values: Respect, Excellence, Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Care and Inclusion. To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:
A University undergraduate degree required with a focus in education, business, public administration, economics, or policy/research with four(4) years' experience supporting senior leadership (executive level and above) as the key person preferably in a highly complex, matrixed organization such as universities, hospitals, or government. Working knowledge of higher education is preferred.
