The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is made up of a team of experts who understand local communities and assess every property in Ontario. Here's what you will do as part of the team:

  • Receive, review and distribute all correspondence and follow up on all outstanding issues, as well as set up and maintain electronic and paper filing systems;
  • Respond to routine enquiries and draft responses in a professional manner;
  • Post and maintain departmental content on the Internet and Intranet;
  • Organize content for presentations, reports, bulletins, memos and correspondence, accessing information from various sources;
  • Proofread and edit all material for accuracy and adherence to MPAC standards;
  • Support the research of information in preparation for meetings, conferences and special projects and make arrangements for meetings and conference calls;
  • Track outstanding items and the status of incoming reports and presentation files;
  • Assist in coordinating executive leadership meetings including distributing agendas, logistical arrangements and ensuring appropriate follow up of action items;
  • Coordinate and attend staff meetings and assist with event planning;
  • Provide financial services support to the team, which includes inputting data into financial system (SAP), monitoring and reconciling monthly expenditures, submitting expense claims and preparing expense reports.

Here's what you will need to succeed:

  • At least 3 years of administrative and/or clerical support experience supporting management;
  • General knowledge of budgeting and purchasing processes;
  • Advanced proficiency in all MS Office suite of applications;
  • Good organization and time management skills while maintaining high quality standards;
  • Effective communications skills coupled with excellent follow-up skills;
  • A strong customer service orientation and ability to work under tight timelines.

Nice to have:

  • Completion of a college diploma or university degree in Administrative or related studies;
  • Budget perceptiveness – excellent knowledge of expense policies and procedures;
  • General knowledge of relevant acts (e.g., Assessment Act, Municipal Act, Education Act).
