This position needs to be filled to perform various core C&D regulatory functions ( 75% ) to ensure regulatory compliance with our Recognition Order and provide admin support ( 25 %) to five professional staff within C&D

Core C&D Regulatory Functions Include : Managing Public Complaints traffic, Managing all marketplace communications between the BCSC/ASC, IIROC and C&D related to our issuers and marketplace. Maintain various internal databases with respect of regulatory notices and assist professional staff as needed on file specific issues. These functions are subject to regulatory audit.


Provide general administrative support to the C&D Team.

Description:

  • Oversees all logistics with respect to external complaints handling including their initial review and assignment.
  • Reviews, tracks and assigns all incoming daily communications from securities regulators and our Regulation Services Provider (IIROC).
  • Prepares and edits written communication for formatting, grammar, punctuation and spelling. Correspondence consists primarily of letters to issuers regarding governance issues.
  • Compiles monthly, quarterly and annual departmental statistics for Regulatory Oversight.
  • Searches various internal and external databases for personal and corporate information relating to due diligence and investigative reviews.
  • Maintains internal files, systems and databases.
  • Provides full administrative and clerical support to a team of nine professionals.
  • Special projects as requested
  • Administrative functions, including reception relief coverage

Must Have Skills:

  • College diploma in administrative studies with a minimum of 3+ years experience in an administrative support role in a corporate environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office , Google Suite of products and Lotus Notes.
  • Strong keyboarding skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize time appropriately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Scrupulous attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Professional telephone etiquette and customer service focused.
  • Self-starter - able to work independently.
  • Sensitivity to confidential matters is critical.

Nice to have skills:

  • Familiarity with the securities industry would be considered an asset.
