School District No. 35 (Langley) is seeking an Executive Assistant to support and work directly with our District's Director - Learning Support Services.
The excluded management position of Executive Assistant is primarily responsible for performing a variety of complex clerical and administrative duties including managing office correspondence, organizing and maintaining document filing and record-keeping, coordinating activities and scheduling meetings, and researching and preparing information on given topics. This position also acts as the first point of contact for communication regarding questions from parents. The Executive Assistant uses the utmost discretion in dealing with matters of a confidential and sensitive nature and represents the values, mandate and policies of the School District.
The successful applicant will have completed post-secondary courses in Business Administration and have five years of related experience supporting a senior manager in an educational or public sector environment. Applicants must also possess exemplary computer (MS Office Suite) and typing skills (70+ wpm), excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent administrative, organizational, planning, interpersonal, problem solving, and supervisory skills combined with a proven ability to take initiative and work independently under pressure.
